Adding Sunlight To A Photo

AddingSunlightToAPhoto125x125 Lighting effect is very impressive and interesting. So in this tutorial we are going to bring some sunlight to a cloudy day. Read on to find out how, step by step

Step 1: First we have to find an image to work with. I chose a picture of a cloudy day to make the effect more impressive

Step 2: Press D to reset your colors and press X to swap them. Create a new layer and use Gradient Tool with Linear Gradient to make a gradient layer from white to black

Step 3: Go to Filter>Distort>Wave and use the settings below:

Step 4: Go to Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates and choose Rectangular to Polar option

Step 5: We should make the light smoother by blurring it a bit, so go to Filter>Blur>Radial Blur with these settings:

Step 6: Change the blending mode of this layer to Overlay

Step 7: In this step we will color our light to make it look real. Create a new layer and use the Gradient Tool with Radial Gradient option and set a gradient color from white to orange to make a layer like this:

Step 8: Once again, change the blending mode of this layer to Overlay to apply this layer's color to the light. And you can see the result below:
